Uploading the ready-made templates

After you've finished preparing the .psd template, you need to upload it on a website. Templates' upload and configuration consist of several stages.

  1. Creation of a template in an admin panel

    • To create a template, you need to go to the admin template, open Products > Templates, and press Add.

    • Enter the name of a new template in a modal window and press Create.

  2. Template Information

    • Name field Text in the "name field" is displayed in an admin panel in a Template tab and includes information that helps with the navigation, e. g., about product category and size.
      Title The name in the "title" field is displayed on the website. This name can be found on a list of templates or template preview pages.
      Price – is the cost of the template. It is added to the product cost if necessary.

      Bound templates IDs. In this field, you can add IDs of templates you want to connect with a current (customizable) template. Every template has its unique ID.
      This option is used if you have several products with the same design in one category. This way, if the user switches the product category in an editor, he will see the same design adapted to a different size or shape. The editor itself does not change the size of templates; this feature only works if you have several templates with the same design. You can learn the template ID in the address bar /printing/templates/[ID template]/edit.

      Meta Description is used for search engines during the indexing of the pages.

      Description is displayed on a website when you view a template.

      You can also add localization to other languages.

    • Arrange Template elements by.

      Their size according to the printing surfaces. This option allows to upload templates with elements of different sizes, but only if a product has surfaces of various sizes. An editor will automatically add template elements to the surfaces of the corresponding size.

      Standard Order . This option will automatically sort surfaces by the upload time (first at the start and the last one at the end). This option is necessary for photo books and calendars.

    • Types of templates. There are several types of templates: "Standard", "Calendar", and "Photo Book with a Name".

      Standard. The Standard type is the default option used for most of the templates.

      Calendar. The Calendar type is an option used for calendar templates. It allows setting the year range for the calendar grid and the periods: month, quarter, or year.

      Photo Book with a Name "The Photo Book with a Name" is used for Personalized Photo Book editor..

    • Mark template as private. This option hides the template from the website and makes it unavailable to the user. Although the template still can be accessed if the user has a direct link if you add template ID to the address bar: /printing/[category address]/template-[id template]/editor

    • Don't display in a list of random templates. This option allows hiding a template from the list of random templates on a product page.

    • Display elements of this template exclusively in a Template tab in the admin panel. . If you enable this function, the user won't be able to switch to another template in an editor. Users also won't able to choose this template while they have another one open in their editor.

    • Cover. The uploaded image will show in the admin panel in a list of other templates. You can use for a cover either the "First element" of a template or the "Uploaded file".

    • VDP or Variable Data Printing. Variable Data Printing will allow you to print several products with the same design but different information. For example, if you are printing badges for several people and change only photos and names.
      If you want VDP to be enabled, you'll need to create text layers in the file with a template. After that, upload the template and add text layers names in the admin panel in the fields below the Template layer name.
      The number of fields is unlimited.

    • Tags. show on a list of templates page. To add tags, you need to press "Select".

    • If you want your template to show on a website, you need to attach it to a category or a product.
      To add them, you need to press "Select".

      After that, choose a product category and product.

      Now it is in the list of templates and can be applied to this product.

  3. File Upload

    1. To add templates, you need to press Add. Add. In a modal window template element. The number of elements is unlimited. The number of the templates element is unlimited. Downloads should not exceed 500 MB.

      For the elements of the template, the following actions are available:
      Delete or Hide. Pick elements you want to hide or delete, and after that, press a button at the bottom of the page.
      Download. Click download original to download the elements of a template. This feature is unavailable for Personalized Photo Books for kids.
      Replace template file. This function allows replacing one of the template elements without changing their order and is used mostly to replace elements in the same templates.

      There are also the following fields available:
      Element Name. By default, the value in this field is taken from the .psd file.
      Available for the surfaces. This feature is used to determine whether design elements are appliable to certain pages or not. For example, if your photo book has endpapers, and one of them is white, need to set the following values for the elements in the design:

      [index] >= 3 && [index] <= ([last]-1).

      This way, the elements won’t be applied to the cover and blank endpapers.
      Month. This feature is available for all Calendar Templates of the type and allows assigning an element to a month. For the cover, the "Not specified value is set".
